Winter Adventure Camp

Ice climbing, skiing, avalanche education, mountain first aid and many more intriguing classes at the Samotnia Refuge. Anyone between 11 and 18 can take part!

Place:
Samotnia Refuge:www.samotnia.com.pl . Accommodation and theoretical classes are provided in the refuge, practical instruction in the Karkonosze Mts.

Getting here:
Participants arrive in Karpacz independently and gather in front of the Post Office (in Polish - Poczta Polska) at 27 Karkonoska Street in Karpacz Gorny at 4pm (on the first day of the camp). The group is guided to the Samotnia Refuge by our instructor. Our 4x4 vehicle takes your luggage directly to the refuge, so you won't have to carry your backpack!

The program covers:
* skiing instruction
* ski-touring
* basic ice climbing techniques
* avalanche education
* winter mountain survival skills (a night in an emergency snow shelter e.g. a snow cave)
* mountain first aid
* the topography of the Katkonosze Mts.
* lectures by specialists on the Karkonosze National Park

Personal kit list:
* passport
* personal ID
* a torch
* two pairs of shoes
* personal items e.g. underwear, soap, shampoo, towel etc.
* a windproof and waterproof jacket
* a cap, gloves and a warm sweater
* at least two pairs of socks
* winter skin cream
